Heidi's 5th Birthday

Heidi turned 5! She had a great birthday. She started the day wanting to watch a little TV which she said "we only do this on birthdays". Then went to present opening. Followed by her favorite breakfast of "Oatmeal in packets". Then time to play with all of the new presents with Nana. Out to lunch, then a trip to Walmart which included buying a pair of shoes with her birthday money (hard to believe that a 5 year old can have a shoe fettish). Afternoon was time for a HORSE RIDE at our friends house. What a highlight! It was snowing and pretty cold but it didn't bother Heidi or her friend Autumn! Finally back home for her birthday dinner of chicken nuggets, macaroni (she's allergic to cheese), peas, grapes, and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. YUM!
Heidi's HORSE, her very own. She loves horses and really would love to have a real one someday. About a month ago Travis asked her what she wanted for her birthday and to his suprise she had quite an answer thought out. She wanted a horse that he could put on a piece of wood and then put wheels on it with a rope that we could pull her around. Well, what a special Daddy he is! He made her dream come true. After finding the horse at Target, he built the frame and put together a horse that we can pull her, or she can pull Emily, on. She is thrilled! The horse has a name, has been brushed, has seen a vet, visited the "stable" (coat closet) and took many rides. All in one day.

Heidi and Nana the night before her birthday (Nana let her open her present early...). Nana made her a beautiful horse comforter. Very nice and very warm.
New cheerleading outfit from Grandpa and Grandma Wilhelm! She's ready to cheer for the Colts and Ohio State now!
Mom got a giant bear hug for this present- a bar of chocolate! all just for Heidi (she usually has to share).

Doll clothes received from Great Grandma Miller (Cheryl's Grandma). The baby clothes on the left is new for Heidi. The baby clothes on the right came for Emily's birthday ealier this year. How amazingly talented is Grandma! Such cute matching outfits for the dolls, who by the way are named Kialan Sophie and Emma.

Heidi heading out on a horse ride.
Time for dinner! Heidi, her friend Autumn, and Emily.

One of the college students, Erica, who really isn't just "one" of them, but is Heidi's dear friend and a huge blessing in my life. She watches the kids for me every Monday afternoon so I can run errands and buy groceries, as well as babysitting numerous other times. She is amazing and I thank God for her.

The grand finale- chocolate cake!!! Yummy!

For some reason 5 years old sounds old to me. (It did with Isaac, too.) Maybe that transition from toddler to kid. It seems like just yesterday when she was born, all 10+lbs. of her. (Yes, she was HUGE.) We enjoyed retelling her the story of her birth today. Thank God for creating her! She is precious!
