Christmas 2008

Following are LOTS of pictures from Christmas. Lots of pictures and not much writing. I will note that you will see some big "spots" on Emily's face. We actually thought she had chickenpox and we even missed the Brinkman Christmas on Christmas Day because of that. But our doctor checked her out and said that it was definitely not chickenpox. Best he could tell, they are bug bites, 25 of them! We prayed for God to do something miraculous because chickenpox would probably put a damper on our trip to Florida on Jan 7th. God answered our prayers! Enjoy the pictures!

Isaac (back row, far right) and Heidi (front row, 2nd from left)

performing during church on Dec 21st

Christmas at Great Grandpa and Grandma Millers Dec 24th

Heidi, Elaina and Emily waiting for Grandma to open their present (She made them beautiful Raggedy Ann dolls)

Holding the Raggedy Ann dolls and wearing the matching outfits from Great Grandma!

Heidi watching Grandpa open his bag of coal!

Jenna and Calvin, all ready for bed

Uncle Matt opening his suprise gift!

Christmas at Home Dec 25th

We had already planned to be home on Christmas morning (the first time in all 8 years of our marriage). The chickenpox scare gave us the whole day home which was very relaxing. Of course, we didn't plan on being home, so we even got to enjoy Chinese take-out for dinner (those of us without food allergies). Thankfully, there wasn't any goose getting its head cut off!!!

Ready to open presents from Grandma and Grandpa Wilhelm

Heidi's reaction to her present- "The Suitcase with Wheels" which she really wanted!

Emily's reaction to her new suitcase! (Check out those spots on her face. That was one nasty bug, wasn't it?)

Isaac- ready to go somewhere with his camo-suitcase. Maybe bootcamp!

The kids bought each other a gift from the Dollar store. So sweet!

Emily told everyone what she got them before they opened it! She was still so excited to see them open their presents!

Heidi and Isaac both know just what to get each other! Such good friends.

Isaac really wanted to get Travis a present. He loves his dad and he knew that a tool was just the gift.

Ready to open the presents from Mom and Dad!

A Light Saber kit. Another sword to add to the collection!

(No, he hasn't watched any Star Wars movies, but he thinks some of the stuff is cool.)

A REAL WATCH!!!

Her new sleeping bag- even came with a water bottle and flashlight!

Way to go Travis! Just what I wanted and didn't even put it on my list. The clock for the bathroom!

He's going to look handsome in that!

Sledding on Christmas Day

(see end for a video)

Heading to Nana and Papa's House Dec 26th

Even inspite of some VERY icy roads, we made it to Nana and Papa's house!

Singing a few Christmas Carols before opening presents.

Isaac gave Papa a tool!

(Emily gave him a "hairbrush" which was actually a brush for washing your car!)

Some "ponytails" for Nana. (She was even so nice she put one in her hair!)

WHOA! Castle Legos!

Eric was really excited about the greeting card box: just what he wanted! Thankfully, there were earphones (headphones) inside!

Nana got a Wii Fit!!! She was so excited that she SCREAMED! She has been looking for one for quite a while. What fun we had playing it. Travis doing the hola-hoop will have to get on You Tube someday.

Ela, Emily and Emma- Three of the 5 E's! (Elaina and Eric, too!)

All of the Grandkids in their matching PJ's!
From left, Isaac, Sophie, Heidi, Emma, Emily, Elaina and Calvin
Calvin liked the microphone too! (This is Emily's new toy that she LOVES). You'd never know that this little guy weighed only 3 lbs when he was born over 2 months early. Praise God for Calvin and what a big and healthy guy he is!

Hanging out with Cheryl's High School friends and their kids.
(We'll be adding 4 more next year!)
Enjoy this video of sledding on Christmas Day!
